KUSADASI:
FULL DAY EPHESUS EXCURSION
Your professional
tour guide and a deluxe air-conditioned vehicle will meet you and your
party at the Kusadasi Pier or your hotel. This excursion will include
a walking tour of Ephesus, which should definitely be one of the highlights
of a visit to Turkey!
You will first be
transported to see The Basilica of St. John. Then, you
start on the visit to the famous ancient city of Ephesus,
where you will be walking on marble streets, admiring the Odeon (Concert
Hall), The Celsus Library with its insulated double walls and beautiful
marble statues and carvings, the “House of Ill Repute”, the
Roman Baths, The Agora Marketplace, The Grand Theater, accommodating 25,000
people, where St. Paul preached, and more. You can behold one of the first
public advertisements in the world, which is still visible! Thereafter,
visit the Archaeological Museum of Ephesus, with displays
of ancient coins, statues, and mosaics, mostly from the Early and Late
Roman Periods.
There will be a stopover for
Lunch, and afterwards a shopping opportunity before returning to your
Cruise Ship or your hotel.
Note: If desired,
especially for a predominantly Catholic Group, a visit to The
House Of The Virgin Mary on Mount Bulbul (Nightingale), where
she is believed to have spent her last years, can be substituted instead
of the visit to The Basilica of St. John on the Full Day Ephesus
Excursion only. [Visitors of other denominations generally do not have
much interest in visiting The House Of The Virgin Mary which, on the other
hand, is a place of pilgrimage for the Catholic Church]. We just need
to be informed in advance of such a choice.
